SAA’s Art and the Animal Exhibition

September 17, 2011

The Society of Animal Artists’ 51st Annual Art and the Animal Exhibition will open on September 17, 2011, at the Dennos Museum in Traverse City, Michigan.  Dan’s piece “Splash” was juried into this show.  

It will be in Traverse City until at least October 30.  At that time, half of the show will start a national tour.  The other half will remain at the Dennos until December 31, 2011, and then it will be on national tour.

Ward World Championships

May 1, 2011

Dan’s “Feeder Frenzy” was awarded Best in World for Interpretive Wood Sculpture for 2011 at the 41st Ward World Championship Wildfowl Carving Competition in Ocean City, MD.  

This was the second time he has won this prestigious award.  His carving will be on display for a year at the Ward Wildfowl Museum in Salisbury, Maryland.
